Dry skin

Last Updated Oct 2007

Q: I live in Ohio and have very dry skin on my hands all year except July and August. What would you recommend to help and/or eliminate this problem?

A: Dry skin is due to increased water loss due to lack of a sufficient lipid barrier in the skin. By decreasing the levels of silent inflammation in the skin, you will begin to increase skin thickness and hence have better moisture retention within the skin. The combination of the Zone Diet and high-dose fish oil will accelerate the process of skin rebuilding.
