I live in Saskatchewan, Canada, and was told about the Zone by the woman who cuts my hair. I had just come from the hospital where I weighed in at 394 pounds. I am 55 years old and 6 feet tall. I immediately got Dr. Sears' book "The Zone" and within one week my wife was making Zone meals for me. In 3 1/2 months I have lost 53 pounds, 5 inches from my waist and 4 inches from my neck. I am still not overly active as I have had both my hips replaced, but I am considerably more active than I was three months ago, and I continue to get more active each week. I eat a Zone bar for breakfast, a Zone shake for lunch and then a regular Zone meal at supper piled high with "good vegetables." My two snacks each consist of half a Zone bar. My goal weight is 220 pounds, and I believe that I can achieve this by next summer. By the way, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and was given one of those breathing machines at the time. Since about week three, I am sleeping through the night for the first time as an adult. Thank you, Dr. Sears.
