I am 56 years young and have been following Dr. Sears’ Zone principles since 1998. I recently completed my second marathon, the 112th Boston Marathon. While I am not perfect in regards to what I eat and my portion controls get out of sync occasionally, I am dedicated to giving myself every opportunity to maximize my enjoyment of life and to achieve excellent health. I understand the commitment to my family, work and friends begins with me.
I had been taking a seizure control medication, Dilantin, since I was 14. I apparently have a lower threshold for electrical impulse malfunction than most people. As an infant I had a seizure due to high temperature but after that occurrence nothing until 14. I fell out of a bunk bead and hit my head on the concrete. A grand mal seizure ensued. Dosage was 3-100mg. capsules daily. Over the next 30 years I periodically cut back on how much Dilantin I used. I had multiple incidents of grand mal seizures usually when I had not gotten enough sleep and had been drinking but found that three months to six months at a time I would be seizure free. 1992 was my last seizure. Since that time I had been taking the Dilantin regularly, three a day. In 2006, I read “The OmegaRx Zone” and decided that it was worth trying high-dose fish oil to assist me getting totally off the Dilantin. I had been very concerned about the long-term side effects. I consulted with my doctor and began to phase out the Dilantin over a 90-day period. In September 2006 I ceased taking Dilantin. While I phased out the Dilantin, I began taking OmegaRx fish oil, dosage two teaspoons. Due to my intensive training schedules I switched to EicoPro formula, and now it has been 20 months without any seizure activity. It must be the fish oil because the only things that have changed are no Dilantin and increased dosage of the EicoPro concentrate. No aura's, nothing! It is truly a scientifically based miracle. I have so much to be thankful for in my life, but the day I got into the Omega Zone was the start of a new healthier, happier existence. I will be forever grateful. Thank you, Dr. Barry Sears!
