Q: Since 2004 I had two miscarriages; then my second child was born. After 2004 I had three more miscarriages. My last miscarriage was in the first week of October. All my miscarriages happened within four, six, or eight weeks. I found out that I have cardiolipin that normally should range 1-9, but mine is 40 so I need to wait to do another test after six weeks to make sure I have cardiolipin. The thought of having to take medication doesn't please me. Do you think fish oil may be beneficial to take?
A: Extra fish oil will be important in helping to establish the fetus in the womb. I would suggest starting with 7.5 gram of EPA and DHA per day until you get pregnant and then decrease to 2.5 grams of EPA and DHA per day thereafter.
